NJ men accused of selling fake Xanax on a "dark website"

NEW YORK – New York authorities have dismantled a dark Web site based in New Jersey that has sold millions of dollars of counterfeit Xanax.

Three men from New Jersey, Chester Anderson, 44, of South Brunswick, Jarrette Codd, 41, of Jamesburg, and 41, Ronald MacCarty of Jackson, 51, were indicted on Tuesday for running "Internet-based" stores that sold pills and other drugs to buyers in 43 states.The information on their lawyers was not immediately available.

According to Manhattan attorneys, investigators seized at least 420,000 tablets, 500 glbadine wrappers containing fentanyl heroin, as well as quantities of methamphetamines. They say that it is the largest seizure of illicit pills in the history of New Jersey.

The ring is also accused of bleaching $ 2.3 million in cryptocurrency using pre-charged debit cards and withdrawing money from various ATMs in New Jersey and Manhattan.
