Lotto fraud NLA says it has not allowed anyone to offer winning lotto numbers to the public

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has warned the public against the activities and operations of lotto fraudsters, social media fraudsters and illegal lotto operators and agents.

According to the NLA, fraudsters use radio, television, online and social media platforms to trick unsuspecting people.

Below the statement of the NLA

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) wishes to warn the general public against the activities and operations of lotto fraudsters, social media fraudsters and illegal operators and lotto agents.

Activities and operations of fraudsters and unbelievers

These scammers and social media scammers use radio, television, online publications, newspapers, social media platforms, mainly Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.

Some of these looters and miscreants of social media have set up Facebook, WhatsApp and other social media pages using pictures and the names of the general manager and NLA staff to defraud people.

These fraudsters use a clever tactic to convince the public to make mobile money transfers in exchange for Winning Lotto Numbers.

Lotto smugglers widely supported by some illegal operators and lotto agents have always misinformed the general public that: 1. They had access to the NLA's winning lotto numbers prior to the draw.

2. Customers should not wager on NLA products as they will automatically know the number of machines they have wagered (point-of-sale terminals, POSTs). As a result, the Authority will ensure that these numbers are not drawn. All this information is completely wrong.

Illegal POST of Alpha Lotto

The Authority also learned that Alpha Lotto used machines (point-of-sale terminals, POST), commission superior to the commission of the NLA.

The Authority would like to categorically declare that the National Lottery Authority (NLA) has NOT authorized and authorized Alpha Lotto to use its own machines (point-of-sale terminals, POST) and its platform to generate banknotes brand electronics.

The POS terminals of Alpha Lotto are illegal and ALN is taking steps to immediately stop all Alpha Lotto machines.

Attention to the public

The National Lottery Authority would like to take this opportunity to inform the general public that:

1. The NLA has not authorized or nominated an individual or group of individuals to offer winning lottery numbers to the public because lotto is a game of chance and it is impossible to predict winning numbers .

2. The NLA and its staff have no knowledge and have no control over the results of the draws. The prints take place in a very open and transparent way and are intended for the general public. All Ghanaians are free and welcome to attend and participate in the draw at 18:30 every day except Sunday and public holidays.

3. It is absolutely wrong that ALN staff, lotto fraudsters and social media miscreants have access to the winning numbers of the lotto of the Authority.

4. The social media pages created by lotto fraudsters and social media scammers using images and the names of the General Manager and the staff of the Authority are completely fraudulent and are intended to defraud gullible Ghanaians and unsuspecting.

5. Licensed products of the Authority are sold by authorized retailers (lotto marketing companies) using NLA-approved point-of-sale terminals (POSTs) to generate serial e-tickets of the brand, as proof of transaction, to use to exchange winning lots after drawing.

6. NLA has not authorized Alpha Lotto or any private operator or lotto agent to use machines (point-of-sale terminals, POSTs) to generate branded electronic tickets parallel to serialized NLA e-tickets. The ALN management is taking steps to terminate all Alpha Lotto machines and any other private lotto operator or agent.

7. The Authority has not yet put its online lottery on the market. As a result, any form of online lottery currently in operation is illegal and is not approved by the AMF.

8. It is impossible for the winning lottery numbers to be disclosed prior to the draw of the Authority, as no one has access to the knowledge and information of the winning Lotto Numbers prior to the draw. of the authority.

9. The Authority can not be held liable for losses suffered by unsuspecting persons who are defrauded by these lotto fraudsters, social media fraudsters and illegal operators and lotto agents.

However, in collaboration with the relevant security agencies, the Authority is taking pragmatic steps to help limit the activities of lotto scammers, social media villains and illegal lotto operators and agents.

Finally, the National Lottery Authority (NLA) respectfully calls on the general public to be more vigilant and stop using the services of lotto fraudsters, social media fraudsters and illegal operators and lotto agents.
