Starting Monday, people who want to register their business will need a digital address code before they can complete the registration process, said the Registrar General.
According to Jemima Oware, this is part of the government's efforts to move Ghana to the rank of easier ranking of the World Bank.
At a press conference, Ms. Oware said that the integration of the Ghana Post to other systems had already been completed.

Ms. Oware added that from Monday, all people must download the application to get an address before starting their business registration.

In addition to the new requirements of the digital address, other reforms have also been introduced to streamline the process of creating a business in Ghana.
Reforms include the automation of the operating permit system, as well as the automation of the building permit process, allowing businesses and developers or contractors to obtain permits online more quickly and easily.
Automation, once completed, will enable online payments, ensure transparency, reduce costs and create a way to respond to public inquiries.
The automation system will be shared with 29 MMDAs and is expected to be completed by the end of March.
