The National Executive of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has refuted allegations of sabotage against some district officials in the sale of forms for the party's parliamentary primaries.

The appointments are scheduled to end today. [Friday]but some party members in Asawase and elsewhere say they can not access the forms.

Some have claimed that there had been a deliberate attempt to prevent them from choosing forms to participate in the primaries.

But Peter Boamah Otokunor, deputy general secretary of the party, said those who felt frustrated in their constituency could access the forms at the regional or national level.

"When you go to the constituency office and you are unable, for a very good reason, to get the forms and go to the areas where you can not get the forms, you can go to headquarters, "he said.

However, Otukonor said the party would allow primaries to be held in time in constituencies where the process was suspended.

The electoral process in some 17 constituencies, including South Tano in the Ahafo region, Chereponi in the Northeast Region, and Kpandai and Bimbilla in the Northern Region, has been suspended.

This is in line with the decision of the National Executive Committee of the NDC to gradually organize the parliamentary primaries.

The parliamentary primaries are scheduled for August 24, 2019.

The party opened the candidatures from July 10 to 12 for the primaries.

The submission of the application forms is scheduled for 18 and 19 July.

The price of the forms is 2000 GH ¢, the filing fee being set at 35 000 GH for all applicants, with the exception of women and disabled people, who must pay 17 500 GH.
