• The government did not send anyone to the United States to confront the ardent critic, Twene Jonas
• A viral video last week showed Adorye of the NPP alleging Jonas was on the run for immigration offenses
• The video sparked backlash that the government sent officials to New York to ‘attack’ a critic
Ernest Owusu Bempah, chairman of the pro-government “Fixing the Country Movement”, called the bloggers’ claims that members of the movement were flown to the United States to “deal” with the ardent nonsense. government critic Twene Jonas.
Owusu Bempah was referring to a viral video posted by the movement’s co-organizer, Hopeson Adorye, last week.
In said video, Adorye alleged that Twene Jonas lost his job as a parking lot attendant in New York City, adding that he was wanted for deportation by immigration officials.
Speaking during the September 27, 2021 edition of ‘The Seat Show’ on NET2 TV, Owusu Bempah explained: to go after Twene Jonas.
“Who is Twene Jonas for this government, however serious it is, to send someone to go and expose it for some reason?” Reports alleging that we were on the streets of America and that we took videos and posted them on social media about him are absurd. To hell with that. Nobody has time to do that, “he added.
He is particularly furious at bloggers who he says posted his photos and linked them to the video in which Adorye is seen and heard “exposing” Twene Jonas’ fraudulent lifestyle.
He maintained that Jonas was never part of their trip or their meeting agenda in Manhattan. According to him, Adorye was having an unrelated Facebook Live session with Jonas when a question about him was raised, hence the detour to address the unrepentant critic of the government.
“It is pointless and foolish for people to say we were in the United States to haunt Twene Jonas,” accused Owusu Bempah, visibly angry.
The failed New Patriotic Party candidate Hopeson Adorye reported from the United States via social media that Twene Jonas, a serial critic of poor political governance and leadership in Ghana, had been sacked from his post and was wanted by immigration officials.
Adorye, who was in the company of fellow NPP member Ernest Owusu Bempah, sought to disparage Twene Jonas’ campaign against the government by saying the social media commentator went into hiding because he entered America with false papers.
But Jonas’ sister hit back on social media, calling on the government to put aside important things affecting Ghanaians and focus on her brother.
Nana Hemaa also denied allegations that Twene Jonas was fired from his job, revealing that Twene Jonas continued to work with his company because he had not broken any rules.
“I want to assure everyone that nothing has happened to Twene Jonas. The two idiots and their presidents cannot do anything to him. Here, the system therefore works if the Ghanaian government wants Twene Jonas, the US state does not. He won’t deliver to them. He will be protected. They will not allow them to send him to Ghana. The law works here. “
“If everyone gets on a plane at $ 15,000 an hour to pick up Twene Jonas, then they have a big problem. They are not correct. Twene Jonas is protected by the US government and nothing can be done to him. I want to assure everyone that he is fine.
“If they came from Ghana to look for him, they are idiots. They rather enrich the United States because the United States government will protect Twene Jonas,” she said.
