Northampton Saints – Gloucester – Rugby team news and strengthening, Tom Marshall is ruled out due to injury

Gloucester made three changes to his squad for Sunday's Premiership game away from the Northampton Saints.

Tom Marshall joins Ollie Thorley and Jason Woodward, all the changes come in the background: Charlie Sharples and Matt Banahan get on the wings and Tom Hudson is back after a concussion at the back.

Among the substitutes, Munster's hooker on loan, Mike Sherry, is named for the first time in a matchmaking squad in Gloucester and the return of Tom Savage. The two players are separated on the bench by Callum Braley and Tom Seabrook.

Former Gloucester hooker Darren Dawidiuk will make his debut in Northampton after being named to the bench by English captain Dylan Hartley who was not fit yet and James Fish absent for a concussion.

Four changes were made to their starting lineup: Reece Marshall and hooker, and Francois van Wyk, starting loosehead.

Courtney Lawes gets into the engine room to join Alex Moon. Flanker Heinrich Brüssow is also selected alongside Lewis Ludlam and skipper Teimana Harrison in the bottom row.

The only change at the back sees Ahsee Tuala enter the wing.

Welsh international Dan Biggar will start mid-day for a battle that should be fascinating against Danny Cipriani, who signed a new contract with Gloucester this week.

Gloucester started the game by finishing third in the Premiership table, nine points ahead of Northampton, fifth, leading the hunting squad in the play-off race.

Also today, it was announced that the lock Tom Savage would leave Gloucester at the end of the season to join Suntory Sungoliath.
