The city of Norwich would be interested in the signing of the Ghanaian international Daniel Opare.

The 28-year-old has only one year left on his contract in Antwerp and City is interested in signing the right with Aston Villa according to The Sun.

The experienced back, who played 23 games last season helping the Belgians secure a spot in the Europa League, could be available at £ 500,000.

Opare has joined Antwerp on the German side of Augsburg for a two-year contract in 2018 and has already had spells in Porto and Real Madrid B.

Opare left Augsburg under a cloud in 2018 when he was summoned to leave the club for being "dishonest" and having "shown no loyalty to the club's values" during the transfer talks with Schalke .

Verdict

City could certainly do something right behind Max Aarons given the departures of Ivo Pinto and Felix Pbadlack. Sports director Stuart Webber said the club would not spend money this summer. It might be tempting to bring an international Opare team at an unbeatable price. While Aarons had a stunning first season, being pushed by the Opare experience could be useful to the Canaries.
