Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong revealed that some prominent members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had asked him to destroy investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Mr. Agyapaong revealed that after strongly defending the party against the number 12 investigation file, some party members made a point of hindering and destroying his reputation.
Speaking in an interview with Oman FM, the deputy from Assin Central said that he would not seek re-election because of the way the NPP embarrbaded him after being used to destroy Anas and the Tiger Eye PI cabinet.

"After mounting a fierce defense for the party against underground journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, I was disgraced in Parliament as a child," the lawmaker of Central Assin said.
He added that before the release of the video Anas, those who had the chance to see her were alarmed and knew that this would bring the party to light, so they sent emissaries to his house at dawn to defend the party.
Mr. Agyapong following documentary number 12, which revealed mbadive corruption in the Ghana Football Federation, resulting in the resignation of GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, attacked Anas several times, calling him a fraudster and a criminal.
