The two main political parties, the New Partriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), clashed over the weekend for the march of health ahead of the Jan. 31 by-election in the Ayawaso constituency West Wuogon.
The Health Walks were organized as part of their efforts to test and revitalize their support base in the riding.
But while the NPP's Agyarko commemorative march in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency was followed by a mbadive participation of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the ruling NPP's national organizer, Sammy Awuku, and National Youth Organizer Henry Nana Boakye led the walk through the constituency, it was reported that the NDC was marked by poor organization and attendance.
According to the observations of the two political parties on the march for health, the result of the March for Health, however, suggests that the NDC has already thrown in the towel before the 31st of March. January, while languages speak very badly. It may be the NDC opposition strategy to make it look so.
On Thursday, January 10, the EC opened nominations for candidates from the constituency and ended on Saturday, January 12, 2019.
The EC had so far given the go-ahead to four aspiring MPs to contest the by-election in their constituency on January 31, 2019.
Mr. Delali Kwasi Brempong represents the National Democratic Congress. Mrs. Lydia Alhbadan, representing the new patriotic party; Mr. William Dowokpor, for the Progressive Peoples Party; and Mr. Clement Boadi, representing the Liberal Party of Ghana.
