Good afternoon, media friends, college lecturers and students present, newly trained teachers, ladies and gentlemen. We are very grateful for your prompt response despite the short notice given to you.

Education in all its forms is at the base of the development and success of each country. Ghana has already considered this statement highly regarded.

It is sad to see today that the situation is not the same with the government of the NPP and all those who seem to manage our education sector.

We want to highlight the very troubling situations we face as Ghanaians, especially in Hohoe Municipality, in the education sector.

SAD EVENTS IN NATIONAL EDUCATION COLLEGES

Hohoe as a municipality was directly affected by the sad events of the colleges of education. Hohoe can boast of two colleges of education whose contribution to Hohoe's economy can not be underestimated.

Our sons and daughters, our sisters and brothers from the St. Francis and St. Teresa Education Colleges remain the unfortunate victims of the strike action of their lecturers (CETAG).

It is unfortunate to note that a government that claims to fully enforce the tertiary status of higher education institutions seems to be selective as to what will suit them.

Speakers legitimately ask for their research and book allowances and market premium, as do other institutions of higher learning.

A government that, at the speed of light, is asking very innocent residents of these colleges to undertake a national service as part of tertiary recognition, is not willing to meet the requirements of the speakers , as promised in 2016.

Men and women of the media here, it is interesting to note that all this semester in the life of these young men and women has been thrown out by a government as incompetent as shameful. We were here in this country in 2016, when the New Patriotic Party candidate at the time and now the President; Nana Akuffo Addo told us that we were sitting on money but that we were suffering.

Do not ask me where the money is, because all Ghanaians know that the NPP prefers to pay 111 inefficient ministers, pay more than 1600 ideal presidential staff around the Flagstaff House, prepare a ministerial budget at the cost of 800 000 Ghc and 2 million dollars for the creation of a departmental website, more than 2 million cedis in a ministerial workshop and many others will tell us where the money goes.

Create, loot and keep for the family and friends of this government upsets the affairs of our country and its priority areas such as education.

At the NDC, we are concerned about the future of our young men and women. We are concerned about the untold hardship of these speakers due to the nonsense and insensitivity of the NPP government in this case. We are concerned about the burden placed on the parents of these students who, after paying huge amounts for tuition, will bring them home with them.

The situation of newly trained teachers

Until recently, the highly unpopular NPP government has decided to force teachers to undertake a compulsory national service at the end of their studies.

There is nothing wrong with serving the state except under duress and a decision that has never been part of the conditions they were exposed to upon admission to their various colleges. # 39; education. We are convinced that the current government has no idea how to find money to pay these young men and women if they are directly badigned to their workstations and start working after their outdoor program segment.

At the end of last week, we heard the Minister of Dental Education, the results of the licensing exams were not encouraging. We view all of this as a theatrical expression aimed at eliminating and frustrating well-trained teachers from the line of work in order to give the NPP government room to employ their party mates who are not trained in the system by through NABCO.

Most of these untrained NABCO teachers are rejected in most schools where they are sent.

In fact, this government behaves as if teachers and trainee teachers have offended them and decided to teach them a lesson.

The Akufo-Addo and Bawumia allowances have become a mirage in colleges of higher education.

If the basic principles of your choice of Minister of Education are weak, the realities of his total incompetence and insensitivity will expose you. If the promises you made to teachers and trainees are low, the realities of non-payment of book allocation and research and non-payment of teacher training allowances will make you lose a lot of time.

THE TEACHER UNDER FREE SHS

I heard the president say that he was very happy about what is going on today in high schools regarding free SHS. Well, he has always been insensitive to the fate of the ordinary Ghanaian; he has never listened and does not care about the truth on the ground.

He was never aware of the fact that when the lot of green runs was going home, they had to send boxes of chops, trunks and mattresses back home to make room for the lot of gold tracks. This event awaits the coming years with the next arrangement.

Nana Addo ignores that the number of hours of contact with students in some key subjects, such as social studies, has been reduced.

Nana Addo is satisfied because it provides 9 exercise books that students should use.

In fact, he is very satisfied because schools are calling for infrastructure development across the country, but he has not provided one.

The government of the nuclear power plants has made so much propaganda in the education sector that it has forgotten, it is part of the government and time is catching up with it.

We want to ask where are the 8,000 teachers that the government said they used to manage the gold batch. Today, the high school teacher is worse; those who are supposed to be on break now are still in their schools to handle the lot of gold runs.

Those who practice the semester live system and teach the 3rd year will have to stay at the school from January 4, 2019 until students take their exams from March. If you are not lucky and you also teach the lower clbades, forget the holidays.

This is because the 1st and 2nd years will have been returned to school. Unfortunately, the teacher has no motivation, at least for his sacrifices and hard work. That's what the NPP government has turned our teachers into.

The next NDC government, coming in 2021, will place great importance on the teacher's well-being in all educational policy directions. The teacher will play a central role in the quality free education that this country needs. NDC will not compromise in any way the quality, accessibility and affordability of education at all levels for the Ghanaian child.
