National cadres of the New Patriotic Constituency Officer Welfare Party (NCOW) on Wednesday August 11, 2021 paid a courtesy visit to Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Minister of Food and Agriculture at his office at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA).
As part of the visit, the National Executive of the Welfare Association of the Constituency Officers, led by Association Secretary Jeffrey Edward Osei, who is also the NPP President of Ayawaso West Wugon Constituency, presented a quote to Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto. .
He has been described as a legend due to his unrivaled contributions in Ghana and Africa in the agriculture sector, especially during the very vicious and painful times of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Presenting the quote to the Minister, the NCOW Secretary noted that prior to the workshop which saw the inauguration of a Welfare Scheme for Constituency Officers, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto was briefed by the Association .
According to him, typical of the Minister by his commitment, his dedication and his passion for the Tradition of the Party, he came to the aid of the Association.
Jeffrey Edward Osei continued that due to the selfless contributions of Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto to the success of the workshop, the leadership of the social protection program in addition to all the NPP constituency officers is grateful and, therefore, would like to express their appreciation and also seek God’s blessings and favor for him in all his endeavors.
He added that it is the fervent prayer of the Association that the purpose, visions and objectives of the Minister of the Party and the Nation come true.
The quote reads: “Thank you, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto for your many invaluable and indispensable contributions to the nuclear power plant and to the country as a whole. Your undisputed loyalty, dedication, and tremendous contribution to establishing the Welfare of NPP Constituency Officers deserve praise and praise. We applaud and honor you for your tremendous contribution to the creation of this welfare system and other human-centered activities. Continue to rise higher in your efforts ”.
Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto congratulated the Association for its show of gratitude and pledged to continue to support them in all their activities for the continuous strengthening and maintenance of the base and tradition of the Party.
The successful workshop, which led to the inauguration of NPP Constituency Officer Welfare, was held at the Capital View Hotel, Koforidua, Eastern Region, July 16-18 2021. The workshop was held at the request of the NPP constituency presidents of the country’s 275 constituencies. The main objective of the workshop was to institute a social protection program for the leaders of the districts of nuclear power plants. The previously proposed name for the program was the National Constituency Chairmen Welfare Fund (NCCWF), but was later changed to NPP Constituency Officers Welfare in deeper and broader consultations.
The social association comprises all the NPP constituency agents, seventeen (17) per constituency, for a total of four thousand six hundred and seventy-five (4.675). The purpose of the welfare scheme is to serve as a special purpose vehicle for mobilizing resources to improve the well-being of constituency leaders and through that to address relevant challenges from the Party base.
The Minister was in the company of Mr. Frank Amoako, Political Assistant, when he was given the citation.
