Mr John Boadu, Secretary General of the NPP, who announced the announcement at a press conference in Accra, announced that special regional delegates' conferences would be held on Saturday 18 May in all newly created regions.
Setting out the guidelines and terms, he said the candidacy would begin on Tuesday, April 23 and end on Friday, April 26 by the respective regional election commissions.
Candidates wishing to participate in the regional executive elections, said Mr Boadu, will have to pay a non-refundable nomination fee of 1,000.00 GHC for the post of president and 500.00 GHC for other posts.
He said the selection for the regional conferences would be April 29-30 and the audit report would be ready on Thursday, May 2.
The disqualified candidates, Mr Boadu, indicated that they could address a request for redress to the National Secretariat by Friday 3 May and that the final decision on these requests would be communicated by Monday 6 May at the latest. .
The general secretary stated that the polling station, the electoral sector coordinator, the constituency representative or the national leader of the MMDCE, the deputy, the minister or the deputy minister of state were not authorized to challenge the election or to be appointed to the position of regional leader.
In special meetings of the Regional Executive Committee, he said, the meeting would be held under the supervision of a national representative on May 3 in the Bono region, on May 4 in the Northern Region on 5 May. May in the regions of the West and Volta. .
He explained that the party organized meetings of the Special Regional Executive Committee in accordance with Article 9 of the party constitution in the "traditional regions".
"Any vacancy, which may arise for any reason whatsoever within the regional executive committee, will be filled … by the election of the regional executive committee of another person in charge who will occupy it", did he declare.

He added that all standing committees of the National Council and the ad-hoc committees were duly trained and approved at the last National Council meeting held on 12 March and inaugurated on 24 May.
Mr. Boadu called on all stakeholders, especially potential candidates for the different posts of the Conference of Special Delegates, and their supporters to abide by the rules of engagement.
