NPP MP sent home with his donation following unfulfilled promises

Young people from the Zongo community in Agogo in the Asante district of Asante Akyem North on Saturday rejected the articles that were presented to them as a donation by Andy Appiah Kubi, MP for the New Patriotic Party ( NPP), for Ramadan.

The donation that included sacks of rice and milk cartons was outright rejected by the youth to protest what they described as the many missed promises of their MP.

They complained in part that the MP failed to ensure that the deplorable roads in the area were repaired.

The youth did not give the courtesy to the district chief, Mr. Francis Oti Boateng, when he went to the community to present the articles on behalf of the MP before the celebration of Eid-Fitr.

A video seen by Citi The news showed that young people angrily returned the items in a pick-up vehicle nearby.

While some of them made gestures of anger, others chanted that they were not "birds" who had to be given rice.

The community leaders visible in the video showed no signs of disapproval of the youths' actions, some of whom said that they were tired of being deceived.

It is unclear whether community leaders have supported the action of young people.
