Kennedy Agyapong, a hard-talking MP, almost burst into tears when addressing members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in his riding this weekend, expressing his regret for some of the decisions he made, reports MyNewsGh.com.
According to him, he was used by the party and, at one point, abandoned to be the subject of a national shame in Parliament which he said motivated his decision not to be re-elected in 2020 as legislator.
The driver of the nuclear power plant who was visibly angry at Nyankumasi, a suburb of his constituency, asked the audience to record what he was saying and to make the audience hear before the national party hierarchy that he had enough and that it was time for the two to separate.
"The way the nuclear power plants used me, when they were finished, they separated and left all the shame to appear. I am opening today to you, you can record and play for them. If I observe how I lived my life and how the NPP wants to treat me, I call that it stops … I will not get up, "he insisted.
Quoting a case where he felt used up and abandoned, he recounted Anas Aremeyaw Anas's video in which some bigwigs of the party were involved and required his intervention to calm the situation before confronting the music at an embarrbading show alone in parliament .
"When the Anas affair arrived, those who viewed the video understood that she was going to embarrbad them. So they sent emissaries to my house at 9 pm My wife and I had to wake up and went to a radio station to defend the party. The consequences have been my biggest shame in Parliament as a child. I have enough, I do not return, "he said to the applause of his constituents.
"All those who are at the headquarters of the nuclear plant are pushing to be a minister, if I am not a member of Parliament, he can not overthrow me. Nobody can also come and ask me to leave my house at 7 am and go and defend the party on the radio or on television. Politics is not the only way that you can get there. I am tired of the nuclear power station and embarrbadment. "
