Isaac Kwame Asiamah, Member of Parliament for Atwima-Mponua
As part of the efforts to redeem the riches of the new patriotic party in the Atwima-Mponua constituency and its political future, the MP of the constituency, the Hon. Isaac Kwame Asiamah met with delegates on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in Mpasetia, in the Ashanti region.
This meeting had become necessary because of rumors that a potential candidate had been identified in the constituency. Delegates and voters urged the person to challenge the hon. Asiamah in the district of Atwima-Mponua.
Unusual, so to speak, the Hon. Asiamah entered the meeting room with a very weak political profile, a profile describing less than the status of a local badembly man. He sat quietly on the podium.
More than half of the 900 delegates did not enter the venue. Meetings of two, three men and about ten people were seen everywhere.
When the time has come for Hon. Asiamah to speak, he shouted "kukurudu" three times and in shock to the press and everyone else, no one answered.
"I'm only 43 years old. Will you take me out? "He asked on his knees. Delegates inside and outside the meeting room shouted aloud, "Yes, we need change".
Earlier, the district district chief, the Hon. William Darko was interrupted and brought brutally by the angry delegates gathered at the meeting.
In addition, it was found that the constituency chose a candidate for the NDC to allow voters to vote "skirt and blouse" as they call it, in case the hon. Asiamah is elected as NPP candidate in the 2020 elections.
Subsequently, information reaching our attention indicates that the Honorable Member and Minister for Sport, the Hon. Asiamah met with about 20 members of delegates at a crisis meeting last weekend in Accra, in an attempt to redress his political situation.
According to rumors, the meeting had informed him that he should not challenge the protection of the constituency of the new patriotic party in 2020.
The party would do a disservice if it did not investigate this matter. More information is available but, in order not to cause collateral damage to nuclear power plants, a decision was made in the constituency not to publish them.
Minister Assiamah is reputed to be very powerful in the government because he organized the dismissal of his deputy Pius Enam Hadzide and hopes to be able to count on his influence as immunity in the next primaries.
