Bernard Antwi Bosiako, regional president of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Ashanti region, knew in politics that Wontumi had categorically declared that current power challenges could not pit the Akufo-Addo government against an imminent victory.

Power outages in Accra and in other parts of the country began more than a month ago. The residents suffered power cuts all night, forcing them to sleep outside to fight the heat.

On March 13, deputies were forced to leave the house of parliament after a power outage and failure of the UPS system that supports the room's sound systems.

Despite badurances from the minister that this had been a problem for a week, the situation persisted and took longer than expected.

Last weekend, dozens of residents of the capital and other major cities experienced prolonged and persistent power outages.

It will be remembered that Ghanaians voted overwhelmingly against the government of the National Democratic Congress (NEC) in the 2016 general election because of power issues under John Dramani Mahama's administration.

Addressing supporters of the party at the NPP youth conference and the inauguration of election committees last weekend, President Wontimi said that Ghanaians were satisfied with the implementation of the programs. government, insisting that the NPP would win the 2020 elections if President Dumsor returned.

According to him, the administration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will tackle current challenges in power to save Ghanaians from dumsor.

"Ghanaians have already decided. Ghanaians will vote for the NPP government in the 2020 elections. Nothing can stop the NPP from winning the 2020 elections. Dumsor can not send the NPP party into opposition. The administration of President Akufo-Addo will take the Ghanaians to the promised land. Whether dummy or not, Ghanaians will vote for the NPP, "he said.

President Wontumi has accused the NDC of being at the root of current electricity challenges, just to scandalize the Nana Addo government.
