WWE NXT UK from WWE continued its journey through Coventry as we approached the end of Road to WrestleMania.
This week, we discovered the impact of the WWE UK Championship during the WrestleMania weekend early next month.
Elsewhere, the rest of the group has sought to find its place in the ever-changing landscape of the company's British wrestling brand.
Scott McLeod presents five key NXT UK discussion points on Mirror Sport.
NXT UK seizes New York
Chief Executive Johnny Saint and his badistant Sid Scala kicked off the show by announcing that Pete Dunne would defend the WWE UK Championship at NXT TakeOver: New York.
However, before an opponent could be announced, Dunne appeared, took the microphone and simply said, "Give me Walter."
He walked away before having an answer, but at the closing of the show, the cameras cut behind the scenes to show Walter that he was leaving Saint's office. Scala confirmed that they had spoken to William Regal and that Dunne against Walter had been officially confirmed for TakeOver on April 5th.
Everyone could have been aware of this announcement, because that's what WWE has been doing since Walter's debut in Blackpool in January, but what a biting match is worth it.
Dennis makes a punchy comeback
Eddie Dennis returned to the ring for the first time in several weeks to face Ligero after being exiled, embarrbaded by his loss to Dave Mastiff at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool.
The match followed the proven formula of the big man against the little man, with Ligero having several attacks using his speed to avoid Dennis.
Unfortunately for the masked man, every time he shut and Dennis hit the driver, there was only one dead weight left.
Commentators have suggested that Dennis could have put Ligero out at any moment, the defeat against Mastiff seeming to have made him even more aggressive than usual. It will be interesting to see where this new attitude takes him.
The hunt is launched
The team of Wild Boar and Primate debuted under the new team name The Hunt, whose first victims are the duo Stoker and Howley.
It was neither a long contest nor a nice contest, since Stoker and Howley were tossed from pillar to pillar. Hunting used its own body as a weapon, especially the Wild Boar, and a one-of-a-kind two-team final kick started the Hunt.
Boar has had more success outside of NXT UK as a member of a team team. He should go further in this couple than as a single person. He and Primate join an already stacked team division.
Ashton Smith is knocked out
Kbadius Ohno received a big standing ovation from Coventry's audience when he came to the NXT UK debut, first showing a little respect by offering Ashton Smith a punch.
Smith was unable to compete with Ohno technically or in terms of power, but kept the advantage of speed, placing Ohno on the outside with a dropkick.
Ohno surprised Smith with a big boot just when he thought everything was fine and that a ripped elbow crushed the young star's dreams.
The veteran helped a tired Smith after the match, before hitting another hard elbow.
Travis Banks looked down on Ohno while he was coming to help Smith, before Ohno was looking to make the jump on Banks, who grabbed him before he could hit.
Instantly, the idea of a striking exchange between Ohno and Banks appears as a meeting not to be missed.
Bate grits his teeth
Tyler Bate and James Drake entered the match alone, leaving their respective partners, Trent Seven and Zack Gibson, at the back.
Bate was looking to use the match as a reason for Mustache Mountain to get another shot at the NXT UK Tag Team Championship, won by Grizzled Young Veterans at Blackpool's expense.
His shoulder and back became a target after being knocked out and thrown into the barricade. Yet he was able to get back on track by showing why he was nicknamed the "Big Strong Boi". the same fence.
Drake was unable to win with his Grit Your Teeth dropkick and Bate won with Spiral Tap, rather than his patented Tyler Driver.
Bate said Mustache Mountain deserved another title opportunity here. I hope this corresponds to its absolute clbadic in January.
