Odike fights at Mahama | Policy

Akwasi Addai, aka 'Odike', founder of the United Progressive Party (UPP), pledged to prevent former President John Dramani Mahama from leading Ghana again.

According to him, Mr. Mahama has not changed since his dismissal from his political post in 2016 and can no longer be president.

"I will not let Mr. Mahama become president of Ghana because he is still the same Mahama we all know.

"After the defeat of 2016, I was waiting for Mahama to change before returning to his presidential throne.

"Unfortunately, Mr. Mahama has not changed. He only accuses the government without proposing solutions, "he said.

Speaking on the radio, Odike said the slogan "Ghana is a tough slogan" of Mr. Mahama is not enough to capture the power of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

"Mahama should begin to bring solutions to our problems and instead stop attacking the government," he added.

Odike said Mahama's continued attacks on the NPP against the depreciation of Ghana's cedi against major foreign currencies would not help him become president again.

"The Ghana cedi's currency is also heavily depreciated against major currencies when the NDC was also in office for eight years.

"He should stop throwing dust in our eyes and offer solutions to our problems, otherwise I will stop him personally," said Odike.

The UPP leader also denied claims that Ghanaians would have started to lose the NDC after two years in the opposition.

"This is not true, nobody is missing from the CND after their poor leadership, which has caused difficulties for citizens," he said.
