Richard Ofori, the goalkeeper of the Black Stars and Maritzburg, has become a surprise target for the South African giant Orlando Pirates, after his impressive performance in the league.
The giants of Soweto would be eager to strengthen their goalkeeper service with the Ghanaian after an inconsistent performance by their leaders.
The pirates are currently third in the South African league while Maritzburg is rooted at the bottom, which makes the move very possible.
A South African report indicates that the 25-year-old Ghanaian has become the Orlando Pirates' favorite player after his outstanding performances for his club throughout the season.
According to a source that revealed at the South African portal, pressreader.com: "The pirates are interested in Richard Ofori of Maritzburg United With inconsistencies and injuries in his goalkeeper service, the club plans to make an offer for Ofori for next season ".
The pirates have a serious problem of goalkeeper and Jackson Mabokgwane, substitute of Siyabonga, Mpontshane has not done much to convince his coach since Mpontshane was out of order.
Once the contract is concluded, Ofori would be the youngest goalie on the team but would have an impressive experience after playing regularly for the Black Stars and Maritzburg United.
Ofori joined Maritzburg for a three-year contract after a failed attempt to sign for another South African club, Mamelodi Sundowns, after not having the guarantee of a regular playing time.
