National President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, has filed an application for a stay of proceedings in the case in which he and a Kweku Boahen were charged with conspiracy to cause harm and two counts d & # 39; accusation.

In court today, while the state was scheduled to call its first witness, Tony Lithur's lawyer, the NDC's first-accused president, said he had filed a request for a stay of proceedings.

Although the court initially ordered the prosecution to call the witness, regardless of the request, he subsequently declined in his absence.

At the same time, the NDC's deputy communications officer, who also asked the court to quash Count 1, which related to the conspiracy to cause harm, was dismissed.

The petition filed by Dr. Aziz Bamba, Boahen's attorney, has been described by Attorney General Asiamah Sampong as frivolous and baseless.

In dismissing the claim, the court stated that no decision could be made unless the state had the opportunity to prove it.

ABSENT WITNESS

Moreover, the first witness to appear before the court was absent today and, according to the Attorney General, he was in excuse.

He added that the application was filed on July 5 and that it should be transferred on July 23.

The court, chaired by Judge Samuel Asiedu, subsequently adjourned the case.
