Ofosu Kwakye wishes to see Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Parliament House

Former deputy minister of information, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, declared his intention to participate in the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress in the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese constituency.

He declared his intention in a message posted on his Facebook wall with the following inscription: "It's official. I run."

In a poster that he shared on Facebook, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, who is also a known NDC Communicator, wrote:

"Vision and competence … Vote for Felix Kwakye Ofosu as parliamentary candidate for Abura Asebu Kwamankese 2020."

If he is elected by party delegates in his constituency, Kwakye Ofosu will likely face stiff competition from MPP MP Elvis Morris Donko, the current MP for the region.

Felix Ofosu Kwakye is the last leader of the NDC to enter the parliamentary race after former gender minister Nana Oye Lithur declared his intention to stand in Adentan's constitution.

"After consultations, I made the resolute decision to nominate myself as a volunteer and competent candidate for Adentan's parliamentary seat on the NDC's list of candidates," she said in a statement.

Actor and broadcaster John Osei Tutu Agyeman in April this year also notified his intention to challenge the seat of the Parliament of Ayawaso Central.

Mr. Agyeman, however, has not yet declared the party he will seek to represent. Asawase: tensions are high as new NDC candidate promises to oust Muntaka

At the same time, there appears to be tension within the Asawase constituency as NDC members are divided as a result of the emergence of a new person seeking to challenge Muntaka Mubarak's internal party elections.

Party delegates in the constituency formed camps to support Muntaka Mubarak and aspiring parliamentary candidate Mabarick Masawudu.

Proponents of the potential aspirant are already blaming constituency leaders for frustrating processes to allow him to get candidacy forms to challenge the party primaries.
