COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) – Two people claiming to have Legionnaires' Disease at the recently opened Ohio Hospital have sued the institution and its health system.

Eastern Martin and Rebecca Brown continued on Tuesday in Mount Carmel Grove City, Franklin County. Anna Hillis, of Grove City, filed a lawsuit on Friday.

Sixteen people have been diagnosed with legionnaires, a serious form of pneumonia, since the outbreak was made public two weeks ago. A 75-year-old woman died after being diagnosed.

A spokeswoman said the hospital was committed to "doing what is right and fair" for families.

The Browns' lawsuit indicates that Legionnaires were diagnosed in Martin Brown after undergoing heart surgery at Mount Carmel. Anna Hillis says she contracted the disease during a visit in mid-May.

The outbreak was attributed to the hospital's hot water system.
