Ola Electric will officially launch its highly anticipated electric scooter today in India. The company teased the electric vehicle on its Twitter and other social media accounts, revealing its several key features. The Ola Electric Scooter launch event will begin at 2:00 p.m. IST via the official Ola Electric YouTube channel and other social networks. The next EV is already available for pre-bookings and consumers can book theirs on olaelectric.com by paying a token amount of Rs 499. The launch of the Ola electric scooter in India is scheduled for August 15, 2021.
The Ola electric scooter will be manufactured in the Tamil Nadu factory called Ola Futurefactory. It will be available in ten shades. Additionally, the EV will come in matte and gloss finish options in blue and black colors and will likely come in three variations.

The base variant is said to have a 2 kW motor which will generate a top speed of 45 km / h. The second variant will have a 4 kW motor and will reach a maximum speed of 70 km / h. The high-end variant will get a 7 kW motor and have a top speed of 95 km / h.

Ola’s next electric scooter will be able to travel up to 75 km on a 50% charge and 150 km when fully charged. Ola’s electric two-wheeler will be equipped with a 3.4 kWh battery, which will make it eligible for the government’s FAME-II grant. Ola scooter customers will be able to charge the electric vehicle up to 50% in just 18 minutes. On a regular charging station, the EV will take around 2.5 hours to fully charge while a normal home outlet will take longer, around 5.5 hours.

Other features include a 7-inch touchscreen with GPS navigation, 4G connectivity with YouTube support, and voice calls. Users will be able to access their vehicle through a mobile app, which ola calls the keyless experience. In addition, it will get LED headlight with LED DRL, LED turn signals, LED tail light, alloy rims with single disc each on the front and rear of the tire. As for the prices, the price of the Ola electric scooter is likely to be between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.2 lakh.
