Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping the club can conclude "one or two" additional contracts before the close of the transfer window next week.
The Red Devils are expected to sign Harry Maguire their third signing of the summer after agreeing to pay a commission to Leicester City for the back center.
The English international will join United in a £ 80 million contract, subject to medical and personal conditions, which will enable him to surpbad Virgil van Dijk as the most expensive defender in the world.
And although he is reluctant to comment on the deal for Maguire, Solskjaer is confident to add to his squad in the coming days, with Bruno Fernandes and Paulo Dybala among those related to the move to Old Trafford.
"We still hope that one or two agreements can be concluded," Solskjaer told the Palestinian Authority ahead of the International Champions Cup match with AC Milan on Saturday.
"We have been working on cases for a long time and suddenly, the agreement can be reached when it trails in length."
"As a club, we had goals, but as a coach and manager, you have to work with those you have in the field.
"You can not think" it's coming "or" it's sold ".
"The reality is that you have to work with those who are there, I never thought" I'm going to play him there, but he's coming in. "
"Everyone who participated in the preseason has an important role to play and most of them have been impressed.
"But the speculation on transfers does not stop (after the deadline) because you still have to plan the next transfer window and the next summer."
The club is in talks to sign the Argentine international Dybala of Juventus under an exchange agreement that would allow Romelu Lukaku to surrender to the champions of Italy.
Despite the information that Lukaku would have previously agreed personal conditions with the Serie A team, it is understood that the agreement depends on Dybala's agreement to join the Premier League team .
Lukaku, who was also a target for Inter Milan, has not participated in any pre-season United matches and should miss Saturday's game in Cardiff.
Solskjaer hopes his team will be able to continue its pre-season momentum, which has already brought wins to Perth Glory, Leeds, Inter Milan, Tottenham and Kristiansund.
"The pre-season is laying the groundwork for the season," said Solskjaer. "We did very well and won five games, but that's not the goal.
"You want to state your principles, your way of playing and the work of fitness. We seemed more and more clear and I think we are solid for this first weekend.
"I hope we started something, we had five weeks of good work, the boys were pretty good when they came back and the tactical work was good too."
