Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes a close look at Manchester United's lack of transfer activities this summer, highlighting the importance of recruiting players in time for the pre-season.

The Red Devils are currently in the first leg of their summer tour, which will include matches against Perth Glory, Tottenham and Inter Milan in Australia, China and Singapore.

The Norwegian identified transfer goals well before the end of last season's campaign and wanted most of his contracts to be finalized in time to allow new players to join the preparatory round.

However, although United has signed twice, it is undeniable that only Aaron Wan-Bissaka was signed as an expected starter.

Solskjaer remains eager to sign a central defender and at least one midfielder. An attacker will be needed if Romelu Lukaku concretizes his wish to join Inter Milan.

The 46-year-old highlighted the importance of the pre-season this summer because he was unhappy with the fitness level of the team inherited from Jose Mourinho.

And, praising Wan-Bissaka's decision to shorten his vacation to join the tour, Solskjaer made a thinly veiled decision on United's board of directors, stressing the importance of having new recruits on tour.

& # 39; It [Wan-Bissaka] wanted to be part of this tour and I think it's important that you be part of a new team, "said Solskjaer.

"When you leave like this, they are all the time one with the other and that is a great period of team links."

Solskjaer put the team in double session in Western Australia.

Last week, according to reports, several foreign players at Old Trafford openly questioned Solskjaer's training methods, but the former boss of Molde confirmed the importance he attached to fitness.

"They should feel tired, they should feel they are getting something out of it," said Solskjaer.

"We build fitness, robustness, mental toughness and that's very encouraging."
