According to a new study published in the US journal, low levels of beta-amyloid protein and tau protein, biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease (AD), present in ocular fluid were badociated with low cognitive scores. In this study, the researchers used ocular fluid samples from 80 patients to undergo surgery. The fluid extracted during these surgeries is usually discarded.
