Onkyo has announced the HT-RC360 7.2-Channel Network Home Theater Receiver featuring the new Marvell Qdeo 4K video upscaling processor and a front-panel USB port providing direct digital connection for an iPod or iPhone, as well as support for audio playback from USB Mass Storage Devices. The USB port even supports album art from your iPod / iPhone.
The network compatible receiver supports PC audio streaming and Internet radio from Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, SiriusXM Internet Radio, Slacker, Mediafly and vTuner and offers compatibility with Windows 7 and DLNA. Internet connection greatly simplifies the process of future receiver firmware update. The HT-RC360 works with Onkyo’s free Remote App for iPod, iPhone or iPad to control the A / V receiver. It is also compatible with the recently announced UWF-1 Wireless USB Adapter which provides IEEE 802.11 connection. b / g / n to access music on a home network.
The HT-RC360 includes connections for USB, Ethernet and Onkyo’s proprietary Universal Port (U-Port), as well as a full range of traditional audio and video sources.
The included 7.2ch surround sound system with Audyssey DSX or Dolby ProLogic IIz processing provides alternate height or wide channels. The advanced HDMI interface supports high-definition, lossless surround sound through Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio codecs. The HT-RC360 uses Audyssey 2EQ room correction and includes Audyssey Dynamic EQ and Dynamic Volume to correct volume issues.
The brand new Marvell Qdeo video processing chip, which can enhance video up to 1080p and beyond up to 4K horizontal resolution regardless of the source resolution. Although 4K video display technology is not yet on the market, this new processor easily handles the oversampling of the current source and will be ready for future displays.
The Onkyo HT-RC360 features Onkyo’s proprietary Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT) amplifiers, 192 kHz / 24-bit Burr-Brown DACs and overlay graphic on-screen display so users can always watch a program while using the menus. Onkyo’s latest graphical user interface (GUI) allows users to smoothly navigate Internet radio, iPod / iPhone sources or any connected source.
Price and availability
The Onkyo HT-RC360 will both be available in April for $ 549, which now replaces the HT-RC260.
