Ife’s Ooni, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, denied rumors that Senator Ademola Adeleke promised him a private jet.
This is contained in a statement from the Ooni Media and Public Affairs Directorate of Ife Palace, Mr. Moses Olafare, and sent to the Nigeria News Agency (NAN) on Friday in Ile-Ife.
Olafare urged the general public to ignore a viral report that an aspiring People’s Democratic Party (PDP) governor Senator Ademola Adeleke, during a courtesy visit on Wednesday, had vowed to get a plane for the Ooni.
He said no such report had been issued by the palace despite the politician’s speech being distorted by some writers with hidden intentions, including dragging the respected Ooni stool through the mud.
The press attaché clarified that the truth could be sought in the videos emanating from the visit.
Olafare added that Ooni’s only demand was a credible, crisis-free election for the benefit of all, to which the PDP leader agreed.
According to him, it is the customary character of all aspiring political office and party candidates without exception, including visiting Senator Adeleke, to make several promises such as the reconstruction of the roads in Ile-Ife and the completion of the Osun State Airport project in Ido-Osun, among others.
“Unfortunately, these development points have been mischievously ignored in viral reporting.
“On the controversial ‘Private Jet’ it is common knowledge that the Adeleke family owns a fleet of private jets which could have been the basis of the governor’s hope to have said lightly.
“Father Royal, any private jets you might need for your travels are readily available,” he said.
Olafare said it is ridiculous to see such a trend of disinformation on supposedly credible news platforms, including national dailies.
According to him, the Ooni palace wishes to warn the general public not to mistakenly believe the false report because it is a lie from the abyss of hell.
The press secretary said Adeleke’s visit was not the first and would never be the last political visit to the Ooni and other traditional state leaders, as we are already approaching the election year in Osun while other midshipmen, including the outgoing governor, still arrive. make their promises as usual.
