Vauxhall unveils this week a new electric van model at the IAA Industrial Vehicle Show in Hannover, Germany.
Vivaro's new e-concept concept uses lithium ion battery technology that can be recharged using a standard household outlet, providing a torque of 370 Nm and a purely electric range of 100 km.
It also offers a combination of electric and motor propulsion, with a reach extension device that helps the vehicle travel distances of up to 250 km if needed.
Chris Lacey, executive director of international operations at Opel / Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles, said that this will allow owners to use the van for their day-to-day business, while allowing them to access urban areas currently prohibited by vans traditional motor.
He added: "We are confident that we will get a fantastic reaction from the commercial vehicle specialists who use these vehicles daily."
Last month, the automaker announced plans to expand its service offering to UK commercial vehicle owners by expanding its network of Vauxhall MasterFit Premier service centers.
