Open letter to the Honorable Elected President of the SRC, Adu-Baah Charles (ABC)

University of Science and Technology Kwame Nkrumah, KNUST. Kumasi, Ghana

Dear comrade Adu-Baah Charles,
I bring you warm greetings. I would also like to warmly congratulate you on your overwhelming victory in this year's CRS presidential election, in front of your contenders. Your ambition to lead KNUST, which has been in the embryo for a long time, is now achieved, as evidenced by your 65.96% votes against your candidates, which is more than four years of AAC. This is unprecedented and I congratulate you on winning the elections.

I'm not someone to brag about, and it's not even compatible with my status to prejudge your vision of KNUST, but your unprecedented victory globally indicates that KUNST's students have confidence in your flagship policies and interventions. Therefore, I am sure you have no reason to think that you can fail students in your administration.

As a writer, let me share with you some hard truths to follow. Comrade ABC, the conscience is always painful when a group of people entrusts the power to only one and this person turns around and betrays the confidence. Saint Paul reminds us that when good leaders are in office, people rejoice but lament when bad leaders are. This means that the saint also loves good leadership and we must show it wherever we go. By baduming this important and enviable position, know that KNUST is attentive to your actions and your inaction.

Do not be angry in the administration headed by Kelvin Sah and you have come to succeed. KNUST is not poor, KNUST is rich, it's a matter of leadership (SRC) and the student body has chosen you from among the six "wise" (aspirants) because they've seen you as someone who can rejuvenate their fallen hope. You did not win the election because the students love the famous name called ABC? No! As you have come, pay attention to the serious development issues that are fundamental to KNUST and do not lament for once the previous leadership. A man whose house is on fire does not chase the rats.

Comrade ABC, a distinguished Kenyan professor of public law, Prof. Patrick O. Lumumba said something very nice. He said that "the first thing African leaders do when they seize power is the primitive accumulation of wealth to such an extent that they do not know where these wealth and wealth are." It is not surprising that KNUST's student management system suffers from the constipation of corruption. A strange message of salvation is needed to save him. Nowadays, our society revolves around money, but when it comes to money, comrade, man must be careful, even if there is no perfection in this world. Do not let KNUST be saddened to see you unable to show what you promised "the students matter most". Leadership is not about personal life. Do I need to say more about some leaders? No! I do not think so. Comrade, KNUST does not actually prefer bones to meat, it's just that no one ever gives them meat. J.B Danquah wrote these lines: "Leadership is not a treasure in itself but a selfless dedication to the service of humanity". It is certainly not God 's intention that some stomachs (students) remain empty while others are overloaded. Embanon! You are a good friend and I know it, but the truth is that people change when we give them power.

Remember last year, you aspired to lead the KNUST, but your enemies did not allow you. You have come back with good policies and dreams that can solve all the problems that students face on campus. I am a policy badyst and can testify that all your policies are achievable and achievable and try as much as possible not to fail the students. You have seen the support of the past few years, including social workers who have suffered in the sun only to collect votes for you. Remember those who did not attend conferences simply because they wanted you to guide them to the land of promise. I urge you not to joke at all by realizing what you promised students. You have been widely approved by many people and for the first time in KNUST's history I have never seen this kind of acceptance before.

Comrade ABC, I know and do not need to remind you that you were chosen among the six (6) wise (Fidelis, Sesah, Ampah, Ali, etc. and yourself) for the quality of your skills , your vigilance, your sobriety, your relentlessness and love. I know that your personality has always been celebrated from near and far when you became the best student in the history and political studies department, level one hundred, serving your college of the humanities and social sciences. I've known your strength and your desire to help others and I believe you still have these traits. You will then need the cooperation of your other elected and appointed executive members to lead KNUST to the highest pitch.

Remember that pragmatic leadership with eagerness is a sine qua non yours. A good leader is one who is dedicated to excellence. He delegates powers and badumes a rear seat role. Be firm and do not allow outside forces to put you under the pressure of time or use a stopwatch to start and stop in your business. Never! Not you! So you'd better give up the presidency and go back to the village than be a president of KNUST and take advantage of the rotten corruption and maladministration. Just know that your elder, Mr. Aziba advises you.

Comrade, the critics are not new and they will follow where the rest are gone. Be at least ready to accept constructive criticism, they are part of the journey. You will make mistakes, but you must be quick to correct them because the good and the brave are not idlers. "A man who has made a mistake and does not correct it makes another mistake," according to the terms of Confucius – Chinese philosopher. I am aware that you can not really please all KNUST members of your reign, but remember that if you give bad food to your stomach, you will have the chance to dance. If your administration fails with KNUST, do not expect the students to be courteous to you. Do not allow students to point fingers at the accusers, because I was also among those who fought hard for your victory. If you manage well, Adu-Baah Charles, it will always be music and it will not listen to the incentives of detractors.

Far too early, Comrade Charles, whoever thinks he is leading and nobody is following is just walking – the Malawians have said it all. May the Lord keep you safe in your vision to rejuvenate and give hope to KNUST students, especially to the level one hundred students who have been unfairly treated by the Sah-led administration (the demonstration I mean ). I love you so much and wish you good luck in your quest to govern well.

I always defend the interests of the people and together we will fight for the change we deserve. Be part of the ABC team as it has a lot to give to KNUST.

Yours truly.
