Ohanaeze Ndigbo expressed anger at the governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma’s decision to reject the southern governors’ resolution on open grazing.

DAILY POST recalls that the Governors had not only announced an outright ban on open grazing in the region, but had set September 2021 as the deadline for its full implementation.

Most states have already enacted laws providing a legal basis for the decision.

However, Uzodinma, who has always avoided the meeting of governors, has now said Imo state will not pass such a law.

It did not go well with Ohanaeze as the apex Igbo socio-cultural group said that with this decision, Uzodinma had brought the scourge of hatred, plagues and curses on his government.

Ohanaeze said Ndigbo would declare him Ndigbo’s number one enemy.

This was contained in a statement Friday by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, secretary general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

He said: “Our suspicions were reinforced by the continued absence of Governor Hope Uzodinma from the meetings of the governors of the south in Asaba and Lagos, which was intentional and premeditated to ambush the resolutions of the governors of the south, and he did not. will never escape Ndigbo’s venom.

“He will surely taste the retribution of God and the wrath of the people as a confirmed saboteur and it will serve as a warning to any Igbo governor who follows such a decision. Such a person will never escape the poisonous actions of the people.

Ohanaeze advised Governor Uzodinma “to repent and step aside as he cannot afford to face the consequences of this decision.

“Uzodinma is now the tool our detractors are using to destabilize southern Nigeria. If he continues, he will be excommunicated from any Igbo gathering and ceremony from September 1, 2021. “

Meanwhile, Ohanaeze said his findings show Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State still agrees with the ban on open grazing and has not adopted any form of cattle ranching.
