Opera restores its VPN (virtual private network) service, but in a slightly different format.

In 2016, the company launched a free VPN application for Android (followed by a launch on iOS), but this one was discontinued last year. Soon, however, Opera will again offer the free VPN service, as part of its Opera browser for Android.

The feature is currently in the testing phase and is slowly being rolled out to Opera beta users, the company said in an article published on its blog on Thursday.

Once enabled, you can choose your virtual location. The choices are not as good as those of a commercial VPN service, but you have to choose if you want to be virtually located in Europe, America Asia. Opera claims that it does not keep any log of use.

VPNs are important tools for anyone who cares about their privacy. They hide your Internet activities from your ISP and can sometimes be used to use services or access blocked sites in your country.

Opera already offers a free and unlimited VPN as part of its web browser. Like this version, the mobile browser also offers to bypbad the VPN when accessing search engines.

Opera browsers for Android are available for free on Google Play.
