A Ghanaian scientist identified as Osei Bonsu has developed a modernized way of preparing local dishes like banku, akple, fufu and kokonte without stress.
In a video report seen by YEN.com.gh on myjoyonline.com, Osei Bonsu revealed he got the idea after his wife had traveled one day and had to cook for himself.
According to him, the procedure was really stressful for him and he wanted to make it both effortless and much more time consuming.
Describing how the method works, Osei Bonsu said that unlike kneading the dough, a small non-stick bowl is used to mix the dough or powder (kokonte, akple or powdered fufu) with hot water in a saucepan. to obtain the desired thickness.
The bowl is then filled with thick dough and covered.
The non-stick bowl is then placed in a pot filled with water and in just 25 minutes the food is ready to eat.
Osei Bonsu added in conclusion that the special non-stick bowls used for the process can be produced in commercial quantities if he gets funding.
