The scene in question saw hundreds of walrus dive from the edge of a cliff, collapse and kill some of their friends along the way.

Our planet claimed that the tragedy was due to global warming, melting sea ice and creature deaths, but a zoologist suggested the opposite.

Susan Crockford told Mirror Online: "More and more walruses are falling and dying as a result of a fall or trampling because they are more abundant than they have been for more than a century now.

"The producers of our planet tell a fictional story to promote an agenda using deliberately misleading images and comments."

In a message on her website, Susan was very shocked: "Attenborough and the film crew told a lie: 200 to 300 walruses fell during the shoot. for the majority of the carcbades shown on the beach below the cliff.

"It is, of course, in addition to the biggest lie that the lack of sea ice is to blame for the walrus herds being on the ground in the first place."

The Siberian Times reported that the scene had been manipulated for Our Planet's advocacy, claiming that polar bears had actually hunted walrus from the rocks.

However, the producer Sophie Lanfear has since closed down any idea that polar bears are at the origin of these heartbreaking images and would respect the facts exposed on the screen.

"We filmed a Pacific walrus falling from high cliffs," she retorted. & # 39; They were not driven off the cliffs by polar bears and we know it because two members of our team were watching the cliffs from afar and could see the polar bears and were in radio communication with us to warn us of the arrival of bear on the crew. closer to the walrus and cliffs.
