OurCrowd, Israel’s leading venture capital investment platform and most active venture capitalist, today announced the appointment of Dr Hasanat Dewan as Chief Innovation Officer. Dr Dewan will oversee the development and deployment of OurCrowd’s next-generation strategic platform, supporting a broad network of stakeholders and allowing investors unprecedented access to venture capital and other private markets.
Mr. Dewan has held senior technology roles for major global financial institutions including E * TRADE Financial Corp., BNY Mellon, Russell Investments Group, Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Stanley.
Dr Dewan will oversee the development and application of innovative processes, tools and technologies to support the growth of OurCrowd’s business. He will lead in-depth data analytics and AI projects to create differentiated products, services and platforms to deliver a unique value proposition to customers, investors, partners and stakeholders.

Dr Dewan led the development of the digital engineering business and practice at Cognizant BFS. His recent roles include SVP and Director of Technology Development at E * TRADE Financial Corp .; Divisional CIO at BNY Mellon, leader in delivery and enterprise architecture; Head of Technology and Global Operations (GTO) at Russell Investments Group; and Managing Director and Technical Director at Merrill Lynch, with a leading role in the development of electronic trading capabilities.
Dr Dewan obtained a doctorate. in Computer Science from Columbia University, and a BA Magna Cum Laude in Computer Science and Physics from Brandeis University, where he was also an international researcher in Vienna.
Dr Dewan’s innovation plans include recruiting a core research and development team selected from the world’s leading AI centers to advance the next generation of OurCrowd’s fintech platform. In the process, he will implement Founder Jon Medved’s broader vision, launching an ecosystem comprising innovation, education, industry connectivity, as well as public and private partnerships, creating a ‘ synergistic network.
