Rose West, a "dangerously overweight" serial killer, has been told by her doctors to lose weight or face an untimely death.
The notorious killer reportedly opted for a ketogenic diet in order to lose excess fat, according to reported information.
West, who has reached the 18-ball stone, consumes an unhealthy diet consisting of cakes, chips and chocolate when he is behind bars.
According to doctors, people with Western blood pressure are at risk of developing heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
But now she will have to give up sweet treats for more nutritious foods such as fish, salads and vegetables if she wants her health to improve.
The ketogenic diets – which have been touted by celebrities such as Halle Berry and Kim Kardashian – require participants that they opt for low carb foods.
It puts dieters in a state called ketosis and puts the body's main source of energy from glucose to fat.
A prison source told the Daily Star: "West has been repeatedly informed of its excessive weight.
"She opted for the keto diet, which promises fast weight loss if you strictly adhere to the rules.
"She is so heavy that she is often out of breath and that she sometimes needs help to get out of the toilet."
West can only consume 20 grams of carbohydrate a day and must not consume more than 1,500 calories a day.
The 65-year-old is known for her love of cakes and last year she won a victory in Low Newton Prison in Durham.
West, one of the most notorious British women among serial killers, was convicted and imprisoned in 1995 for the "depraved" murder of her 10 victims.
The killings occurred primarily at 25 Cromwell Street in Gloucester, the terrace she shared with her husband, the serial killer.
Fred West – who killed at least 12 women, including his own daughter Heather – has committed suicide before facing a jury.
