According to reports, Ozzy Osbourne was sentenced to intensive care in the midst of "serious concerns" about his health.
Singer Black Sabbath, 70, was reportedly sent to a private hospital after worsening bronchitis, although he feared pneumonia.
His wife Sharon Osbourne and their children, Kelly and Jack, would have spent time near his bed and would keep him company while he was there for three days.
An insider told the Sun: "The poor old man Ozzy did not have the best of times. He is really suffering from the flu that has turned into bronchitis. Doctors feared that he is contracting pneumonia, which in someone over 70 can be fatal.
"It triggered a lot of panic among his relatives, but the doctors badured everyone that he was in good hands.
"Ozzy is a fighter and is improving day by day. The worst is over, he's got a smile on his face and he can not wait to get on stage. "
The legend of the music hopes to be released from the hospital later this week and would be healing.
His thrill at the hospital comes after he was forced to cancel his British and European tour, declaring to his fans that he was suffering from "flu complications".
He canceled a series of dates – including shows in Nottingham, Manchester and Glasgow with Judas Priest – due to health issues.
In an article on Twitter, Sharon, 66, wrote: "As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to the hospital as a result of complications related to influenza.
"His doctors believe this is the best way to put him back on the road to recovery
"Thank you all for their concern and love."
Ozzy promised that her tour was being rescheduled and that she would start again in September.
