The PAGCOR Group, the online gaming group based in Asia, has given the go-ahead for the development of two platforms to host accredited Filipino offshore gaming operators.

The hubs – one based in Clark and the other in Cavite – will house not only the offices of accredited POGOs, but also workers' residences and relevant government agencies. The idea is to facilitate the regulation of the sector by PAGCOR.

At the inauguration of the first Phil-Asian Gaming Expo exhibition in Manila, PAGCOR President Andrea Domingo said that the POGOs who were settling in one of these two new centers would be rewarded with five-year licenses instead of the usual three.

"We make operations more comfortable and easier for operators by now buying licenses for POGO hubs," she said.

"Since it's easier for us to regulate when they are in hubs, there are special privileges, like five-year licenses."

According to General Manager of Oriental Game, Kevin Wong, the Clark hub, covering an area of about 10 hectares, is already operational and will accommodate 5,000 workers once at full capacity. The Cavite hub, which will cost PHP 8 billion (USD 156 million) to build at Oriental Game, will cover 20 hectares and accommodate 20,000 workers.

Domingo said that PAGCOR is expected to receive around PHP 8 billion compared to POGO operators in 2019, up from PHP 7.37 billion last year.
