Pamela Anderson called the end of reality television, describing it as an "epidemic of ugliness".

The former Baywatch star – who has appeared in reality television series such as Big Brother, Dancing On Ice and the American series Dancing With The Stars – said on Twitter that the genre could let people feel " used, dirty and without any sense of accomplishment ".

The actress, 51, said: "Did I like being in a reality show?

"Do not give away reality shows or reality TV stars … even France is polluted by them – it's an epidemic of ugliness, superficial competition, despair and exploitation – for artist."

She continued: "You are usually intimidated by agents fighting for commissions. You find yourself without much joy or money, you feel used, dirty and without the feeling of having to fulfill.
