Parliament approves Bono's minister designate

Parliament voted in favor of the appointment of Bono's appointed minister, Evelyn Kumi Richardson, after the rejection of her minority party.

125 members of Parliament voted for its approval while 85 voted against it.

The minority MPs in Parliament had already asked that Ms. Kumi-Richardson's candidacy be rejected by the House.

According to a report presented to the House by the Nominating Committee, its approval was only approved by the majority.

The Parliamentary Nominations Committee had previously refused Ms. Kumi-Richardson's approval because her candidacy was in dispute.

Minority members asked questions about the academic qualifications of Ms. Kumi-Richardson, Executive Director of Sunyani.

Her human relations, some trips she undertook as an ERM were some of the issues raised by the minority when she appeared before the committee.

Haruna Iddrisu, leader of the minority, insisted that Evelyn Kumi-Richardson should provide additional information on audit issues and land issues under her jurisdiction, Sunyani MCE.

"The responsibility does not lie with us as a nominating committee. It is up to her that it is incumbent to provide further details to the answers to questions relating to an audit question and land issues. "

Ms. Kumi-Richardson was one of the four candidates nominated in the second batch by the Nominating Committee.

All the other candidates for the various roles of minister and deputy minister had already been approved by the House.
