MEPs suspended their jobs Wednesday due to a power outage.

Parliament was forced to suspend its business on Wednesday morning after power fluctuations disrupted the work.
Joseph Opoku Gakpo, of Joy News, said a power outage occurred about 10 minutes after the House began work.
The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system could not work due to some flaws it has developed over the weekend, reported Joseph.
Kate Addo, director of public affairs in Parliament, said she was working to repair the UPS as quickly as possible.
She pointed out that their generators were running but that it was the UPS that was serving the room and the audio facilities so they would try to revive it. "We are working to restart the UPS for the moment," she said.
Kate Addo added that the House would stay out of the national network for the rest of the day to avoid any unforeseen eventualities.
How has the blackout affected the company?
MPs should sit longer to make up for lost time, Addo told JoyNews reporter.
"… We were hoping that the meeting would be going well today … but it comes with the territory, so we are ready to do it," she lamented.
Way forward
Addo also noted that her outfit was working for the House to run at the generator for the rest of the week, but added that her superiors had to approve the suggestion.
Blackout in the city
Similar power outages have been reported throughout the country, especially in the last 24 hours.
Tuesday evening, several suburbs of the capital, Accra, were without electricity.
Many people have used social media to complain.
