Accra, July 22, GNA – Vice President of the
Parliament, Mr. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, saluted his lieutenants for their
kept faith with him through his unsuccessful campaign to become the 2020
Flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He particularly applauded the tenacity of
Stephen Ashitey Adjei, better known as Moshake.
In a statement, copy to Ghana News
MP for Nadowli-Kaleo, said he was humiliated by the fact that the president
loyalty of all its collaborators during the election campaign, but could not stop leaving
off his hat for Moshake.
"I dissolved my campaign team after losing
presidential primary and I expressed my gratitude for them, but the recent
Moshake's claim of blame by the Greater Accra Regional Executive
A committee of our party put personal obstacles into perspective
that people like him had to win for me.
"To openly support and campaign for
me, he was suspended as a member of the NDC and had to fight for his right to
reinstatement without even taking charge of the knowledge that something like
it happened to him.
"I am moved by admiring such a spectacle
of personal courage of conviction, "Bagbin said.
He expressed gratitude for Moshake's fight
to be reinstated as a member of the NDC with all rights and responsibilities
has been successful.
During the recent presidential
NDC primary that was won by former President John Mahama, Mr. Alban Bagbin
operated with a small team of pure campaign composed of volunteers.
Without asking for payment, volunteers
went through serious personal difficulties to contribute to the campaign. Of all
Moshake probably paid the highest price.
As a riding official for Tema East,
he refused to align on an agenda to recruit everyone for Mahama,
which led to his suspension.
The NDC man, however, refused to hide.
fight through clashes to vote in the election of national cadres and
also vote for Mr. Bagbin in the presidential primary, despite physical difficulties
tries to deprive him of his rights to the trade fair and to the Anglican of Saint Albans
Church of Tema East.
While Moshake was making these sacrifices,
he was also fighting for his reinstatement and even though the base on which
he was fired was frivolous, the process for getting his membership became a
difficult task. However, last week the Greater Accra Regional Executive Committee
NDC has cleared from any wrongdoing and reinstated it.
"The reintegration of Moshake is good health
development for our party; no one should be penalized for having supported a
aspirant of his choice. My only misfortune is that the problem had to
take this time to be resolved. "
