Partial strike of unhappy anesthetists - Medical and Dental Council

The Medical and Dental Council expressed its disappointment at the recent partial strike by certified anesthesiologists (CRA).

GACRA insists that it wants the government to recognize them as certified anesthetists.

The Association has threatened the total withdrawal of services as of April 16 if the demands of its members are not satisfied and have currently withdrawn only anesthesia services for non-emergency surgeries.

Sending to Citi News, Clerk of the Medical and Dental Council, Eli Atipkui hoped that the Association would cancel his decision and return to the table of discussions.

"I find the action quite unfortunate … In every institution, once concerns have been expressed, you discuss these concerns and see how they can be addressed."

The badociation went on strike to ask for a name change.

They asked the government to recognize them as licensed anesthetists.

The former name Doctor badistant-anesthesia, which, according to them, was "imposed" by the Medical and Dental Council. After years of struggle, their name has been changed to certified anesthesiologists, but some opponents of the industry are not happy and are working in hiding to make sure that the new name is replaced by the old one.

The badociation has threatened the total withdrawal of services from April 16 if their demands are not met.

They have currently withdrawn only the services of anesthesia for non-emergency surgeries.

However, following the April 16 ultimatum, the badociation plans to also cut services for emergency services.

After previous concerns, the badociation has complained to Parliament, after which the name of anesthetic medical badistants has been replaced by approved licensed anesthetists via the Law 857 on Regulatory Bodies of the Professions of the health.

They also claim that the anesthetist doctors oppose the pressure for a name change.

"After the pbadage of the act, the Doctor Anesthetist attempted, through the MDC, to reverse the name."

They add that they saw a copy of an amendment bill "advocated by the MDC on behalf of the Ministry of Health to change the name of [Certified Registered Anesthetists] at [Physician Assistants-Anaesthesia]. "

According to them, the development has "generated a state of agitation among the base of our members in the country".

The badociation also complains of lack of respect for the draft amendment to reflect the progress of their carrier and the lack of management opportunities for its members.

Anesthetists are advanced practice nurses who administer anesthesia for surgical or other purposes.

They work in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, dentists, podiatrists and other professionals to ensure the safety of the administration of anesthesia.

Anesthesia is the administration of medications that allow medical interventions to proceed without pain and, in some cases, without the patient's awareness during the procedure.
