The Ghana Electricity Company (ECG) has notified that there will be blackouts in parts of Accra from Thursday February 11, 2021.

According to the electricity distributor, the planned blackouts should allow a contractor to start excavation work to interconnect the bulk supply point of Pokuase to the Kanda and airport substations.

In a statement on Tuesday, ECG listed the affected areas, including the airport residential area, Mamoobi, Accra Girls, Roman Ridge ECG district office, Kotobabi and Alajo polyclinic.

The statement also said the regions would experience a daily six-hour power outage between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. for a period of seven days.
