Bryan Acheampong7 Minister of State for National Security Bryan Acheampong

Martin Kpebu, a prominent private lawyer, urged Parliament to pbad a vote of no confidence in the state security minister, Bryan Acheampong, to force President Akufo Addo to dismiss him following the violence. the partial election of Ayawaso West Wuogo.

Mr. Acheampong admitted to deploying masked gunmen, who would be national security agents, who did violence to innocent citizens in the by-election that killed six people with gunshots.

The minister justified the actions of the security personnel.

Speaking at the "News File" broadcast, Mr. Martin Kpebu said the minister's action had disgraced Ghana on the international scene and needed to be removed from office.

"At first, he should resign. We have had resignation cases, even in this government, you may remember that the deputy minister of agriculture, Quaitoo, has resigned. So, he should do the honorable thing, if he does not think so, Parliament has the right to make a no-confidence vote for the Speaker to dismiss the Minister of State, so he should activate that. Article 82 is there for them, I think we should do it.

"Looking at this, it's such a shame for us and he embarrbaded the nation by undertaking such an illegal show of force, so he should take the fall and then we'll see what the Inquiry Commission says about this behavior. "
