A Zimbabwean pastor has been brought to justice for illegally entering his former girlfriend’s home and assaulting her.

It was understood that the incident occurred after Maritha Khumalo, who refused to allow the pastor to enter her home in Entumbane, locked herself in.

From what we have gathered from LIB, Pastor Nkomo would have left briefly to return around 7pm to hide in a nearby cornfield, expecting that Maritha would eventually open the door. He was however spotted on the farm by his ex-lover.

After realizing that his plan was not working, Pastor Nkomo scaled the prefab wall and knocked on Maritha’s door. After insisting not to open the door, he then climbed to the roof where he removed two sheets of asbestos and jumped into the house from the top. After entering the house, he started attacking his ex-lover.

A bleeding Maritha eventually came out of the house and sought refuge with a neighbor. He was subsequently arrested and charged with physical violence and malicious damage to property.

After being arraigned before the magistrate of the Western Commonage Jeconia Prince Ncube, he easily pleaded guilty to the charges. He was convicted of his own plea and fined $ 10,000 for physical violence.

On the charge of malicious damage to property, the pastor was sentenced to 6 months including a three-month suspended sentence on the condition that he did not commit a similar offense within five years.
