Patience Anane
Patience Anane, an unemployed twenty-year-old, is in the hands of the Suame District Police Command in the Ashanti region for stealing a six-month-old baby, according to MyNewsGh.com reporters.
Godwin Ahianyo, public relations officer of the Ashanti Regional Police, during a press briefing in Kumasi, said Sunday, January 13, 2019, that the mother of the six-month-old baby had informed the command of Suame police of a robbery of her baby.
According to ASP Godwin Ahianyo, the mother entrusted the child to guard the suspect (Anane Patience) the same day at the racetrack market located near Kumasi to wash the baby's clothes.
When she returned, she discovered that Patience Antwi had disappeared with the baby and no one knew it.
Police opened an investigation into the alleged robbery and on Thursday, January 17, 2019 around 8 pm, the suspect Patience Anane was arrested by two young men in Bantama, a suburb of Kwame Danso, a town in the Brong Ahafo area.
ASP Godwin Ahianyo explained that the suspect had been surrendered to the Kwame Danso District Police Command and transferred to the Suame District Police Command for the investigation to continue.
The suspect is currently in custody and the baby was handed over to the mother under the supervision of a police investigator.
