Paul Merson has a warning for Arsenal about Newcastle in the race to rank in the top four

Former Arsenal striker, Paul Merson, believes that Newcastle United is a dangerous opponent for the Gunners on Monday (Monday), as his former team continues to seek to climb among the top four.

The Gunners are hosting the Magpies at the Emirates Stadium tonight, knowing that a win would place them in third place, ahead of their rival from North London, Tottenham, in the race to rank among the top four of the Premier League.

But before the meeting, Merson warned his former party of the threat posed by Rafa Benitez's men.

"Newcastle is a dangerous team," he said in his weekly article on predictions on the Sky Sports website.

"They have been very good recently, are hard to beat and have two game winners on their team.

"But this is the kind of match that Arsenal is finishing."

Merson has predicted a 3-1 win for the Gunners, but he is not so optimistic about Arsenal's chances of being in the top four this season, with Sky's pundit being the subject of a major claim over the upcoming games of the Gunners.

"If Liverpool had Arsenal's last games, it would win the championship, but be aware that Arsenal will not win all those matches, and that's why they're not in the top four."
