Paul Parker’s choice in the Premier League: Liverpool loses to Manchester City, Manchester United overtakes Everton

[ad_1]

With many exciting Premier League games to look forward to this weekend, Paul Parker has delivered his verdict on how arguably the four biggest games will play out.

Manchester United face Everton, who currently sit fifth in the Premier League table. Brighton, who are sixth with 13 points, will also likely be a tough test for a resurgent Arsenal side.

Nuno Espirito Santo is under immense pressure to score three points against Aston Villa on Sunday, while Liverpool face Manchester City in a heavyweight clash to wrap up the action ahead of the October international break.

Check out Parker’s predictions below …

MAN UTD V EVERTON – (Saturday 12:30 p.m.)

Losing three domestic games at home for United would be a real rarity. They play at Everton who are having a decent season in terms of points, but if you saw them playing you would look at Rafael Benitez and say he got them through tactically by the way he gets them to defend.

It’s going to be a tough game for United as Everton will be seated deep. They are not the fastest team and they attack quite slowly, they don’t have a lot of fast players, they are playing and will be looking to counterattack.

United to win this game.

Result: 1-0

BRIGHTON V ARSENAL – (Saturday 5:30 p.m.)

Brighton was not at its best against Crystal Palace. It’s a derby game of no great value, but there is always that feeling that with their cohesion they had a sense of what they wanted to do.

When they’re at home against Arsenal… three weeks ago I would have been 100% that it was going in one direction, but after Arsenal’s recent performances I’m aiming for an away win.

Does Ben White get a little emotional when they meet? Brighton knows how to play against him so it will be interesting.

Result: 1-2

VILLA TOTTENHAM V ASTON – (Sunday 2 p.m.)

I think Villa will win and get three straight away wins. Their midfield is more energetic than Tottenham’s. Tottenham is pondering. They also rely heavily on Heung-min Son and Lucas Moura. Dele Alli and Harry Kane show no energy at all. If Kane scores everything is forgotten but that’s all they hope for for now.

The rest of their midfield and defense hasn’t really been good since Mauricio Pochettino left. I just can’t see Tottenham winning it. If they win it will have to be a smash and a grab like against Wolves and Manchester City.

Result: 1-3

LIVERPOOL V MAN CITY- (Sunday 4:30 p.m.)

Manchester City to win. Liverpool worked on their defense against Liverpool thanks to the luck that Trent Alexander-Arnold was injured. James Milner went there and defended well which made a difference in their bottom line.

City will feel uncomfortable and felt they should have taken something out of the Paris Saint-Germain game. It took an incredible goal from Lionel Messi to kill the game. It has always been doubtful that PSG will leave with the three points.

City will come back very attentive. I think Jesus will start. He won’t start Sterling up front against Liverpool. Pep Guardiola will want someone more cunning and intelligent to take on Virgil van Dijk.

Result: 1-2
