The saga of summer transfers announces that Paul Pogba is getting closer to a move to Real Madrid.
Yesterday, Zinedine Zidane asked the Los Blancos board of directors to give priority to a transfer for Manchester United's as Pogba this summer.
Zidane desperately needs the club to do everything in its power to attract Pogba to the Bernabeu, in order to reorganize his midfield.
The superstar of France, Pogba, is on Real's wish list for the summer, alongside Christian Eriksen and Donny van de Beek.
The French legend wants to pair Pogba with the current star Casemiro in Real's midfield.
However, Zidane may be frustrated by the fact that the club is struggling to finance the huge price of 160 million pounds.
So with United, desperate for a rebuild, Real hopes to get the deal with a swap deal for the Frenchman.
Florentino Perez hopes to lower the price by offering to Gareth Bale to be part of the contract – a player that Zidane wants to leave the Bernabeu.
But he is not the only one to be offered as bait.
The Sunday Times believes that, just like Bale, Real Madrid will offer James Rodriguez and goalkeeper Keylor Navas at Old Trafford.
They hope this will bring the price of £ 160 million back to more reasonable costs.
However, it is doubtful that United wishes the three players.
Ed Woodward has long been an admirer of Basel and thinks he has the right profile for Old Trafford.
However, Navas is unlikely to be number one – which he needs at this stage of his career – with David de Gea still at United.
And James Rodriguez failed to convince on loan to Bayern Munich. And with a questionable record, United could worry about his chances in the Premier League.
Los Blancos hope that Pogba's unstable mentality will force United to reduce their losses on the former Juventus man.
Although the manager, Ole Gunnar, Solskjaer wants to keep his trophy possession, he would have offered him the Old Trafford captaincy to improve the deal.
Zidane already disagrees with President Florentino Perez about the transfer, the latter desperate to bring Eriksen from Tottenham to Spain.
The Danish playmaker, who led the Spurs to the Champions League final this season, is out of contract in 2020 and the talks have resulted in a new deal with the Spurs.
